Describe the joints and delicate parts
Flat-pack panels, glued joints and sliding-door systems have different limitations. Mention mirrored doors, thin backs and damaged fixing points. Provide the manufacturer or instructions where available. Repeated dismantling can affect some furniture, so do not assume all wardrobes are suitable for disassembly and reuse.
Account for the longest panel
Measure the largest rigid panels and check their route through doorways and stairs. Empty the wardrobe, identify shelves and rails, and agree how fittings will stay together. Reassembly should be discussed for the destination room, where floor space and access may differ. Wall fixing is not automatically included.
Agree before moving day
- Who empties and prepares the wardrobe.
- Whether dismantling, transport and reassembly are all in scope.
- How mirrors, panels and small fittings will be protected.
