Check the construction with the owner
Ask whether the wardrobe is solid furniture, a modular system or flat-pack construction. Note sliding doors, mirrored panels and fixed backs. Previously assembled flat-pack furniture may not tolerate repeated dismantling. Explain its condition and supply the manufacturer or assembly instructions where available; suitability cannot be assumed from a photograph.
Allow for height when turning
Measure the route including ceiling height where the wardrobe must turn, not just the entrance opening. If it is to travel as panels, give the longest panel size and identify glass components. Empty the wardrobe and agree how shelves, rails and fittings will be packed. Dismantling and reassembly need an explicit agreement.
Your wardrobe collection checklist
- Confirm that the seller will release all doors, shelves and fittings.
- State whether it is empty and prepared to carry.
- Describe access to the final room, including stairs and tight corners.
