Record the rigid dimensions
Measure the fixed frame, including protruding arms, legs or handles that will remain attached. If parts are removable, record both assembled dimensions and the largest prepared section. State the units clearly. A product name or seat count is not a reliable size description, particularly for second-hand purchases.
Check both ends of the journey
Measure clear door openings, corridor turns, stairs and lift cabins. Include height where an item must turn. The receiving home can be harder to enter than the seller’s property is to leave. Measurements support an assessment; they do not guarantee a fit where the route or construction remains uncertain.
Send a useful measurement note
- Item name followed by width × depth × height and units.
- Parts that will be removed and who prepares them.
- The tightest openings or turns at collection and delivery.
