Measure the frame as well as the cushions
Give the sofa’s width, depth and height, including the highest fixed part. Explain whether cushions and legs come off and whether it contains a recliner or sofa-bed mechanism. A two-seat description alone does not establish either weight or carrying requirements. Ask the seller for measurements before agreeing transport.
Check the turn after the front door
The narrowest part of the route may be a hallway, stair landing or the space behind a door. Check the seller’s route out and your route in, including any lift. Do not assume removal of a door or lifting through a window is included. Describe uncertainty so handling suitability can be assessed before booking.
Send a sofa-specific request
- Name the sofa type and list each separate section.
- Confirm the seller’s available release window and who will receive delivery.
- Tell us whether the destination is a ground-floor room or upstairs.
