The tabletop determines much of the plan
Glass, stone and solid-wood tops can have very different handling needs. Give dimensions, known weight and construction details. Explain whether the top separates from the base and whether the seller will prepare it. Do not assume a large or unusually heavy top is suitable for an ordinary furniture collection.
Count the pieces that are easy to miss
Include spare extension leaves, seat pads and detached legs. Ask how the chairs can be packed or carried without pressure on their backs. Measure the largest rigid section against entrances and stair turns at both addresses. Retain fittings in a labelled bag and specify whether assembly is requested on delivery.
Make the dining-set request complete
- State the table size when prepared for transport.
- Include every chair and loose extension component.
- Flag fragile tops or existing damage before handling is agreed.
