Identify the type of bed
A simple bolt-together frame differs from an ottoman, bunk bed or powered base. Explain mechanisms, attached storage and existing damage. Find assembly instructions if available. Do not assume every frame can be taken apart safely or will tolerate another assembly; suitability needs review before work is agreed.
Plan what happens to each component
Keep slats, legs and fixings identified for the correct bed. Label similar frames separately and protect the mattress independently. Agree who dismantles before collection and who reassembles at delivery. If work is requested on the moving day, include its timing and cost in the booking discussion.
Your preparation request should state
- The frame or base type and any lifting or powered mechanism.
- Whether the bed will be assembled when the team arrives.
- Which room it should finish in and whether reassembly is requested.
