Plan both ends of the journey
Give full addresses or postcodes for collection and delivery, plus any extra stops. Explain where the vehicle can load, the carrying distance and the stairs or lift arrangements at both properties.
Do not leave destination access until the last minute. A long journey followed by a locked entrance or an unbooked lift can change the plan. Arrange a contact who can receive the belongings and direct unloading.
Use an inventory that covers everything
List each large piece of furniture, appliances and the approximate box count. Include stored items and outdoor belongings that are travelling. Tell us if any items need packing, dismantling or specialist handling.
For a smaller long-distance load, describe the actual job rather than choosing a van size. Vehicle, crew and journey arrangements are confirmed as part of the quote discussion.
Discuss dates and arrival expectations
Share the earliest collection and latest delivery windows, key handover arrangements and any date flexibility. Do not assume same-day delivery or a particular route until the schedule is agreed.
