Do not judge the job by mileage alone
Time can be spent carrying furniture down stairs, walking boxes to a loading point and placing items in the new home. List the complete load and explain both properties. A short route does not establish the vehicle size or number of trips; those need to match the inventory and available access.
Coordinate the two doorways
Make sure collection access and new-home access overlap with the agreed plan. If your move depends on a completion or tenancy handover, explain that uncertainty. Keep personal essentials separate even when the destination is nearby. Do not add a second trip on the assumption it is included because the homes are close.
Prepare your local move request
- Give both full addresses or postcodes rather than “just around the corner”.
- Explain proposed loading positions and any shared drives.
- Confirm whether everything moves together or selected items travel separately.
