Describe the whole carrying route
Tell us the floor number, flights of stairs and whether there is a working lift suitable for the load. Include the lift’s internal dimensions and door opening for large furniture. A passenger lift does not automatically fit a sofa.
Mention long corridors, shared entrances, narrow turns and any distance between the loading space and your building. For a Stratford apartment with managed access, ask the building contact about lift or loading bookings.
Small home, accurate inventory
List beds, sofas, tables, appliances and storage furniture, then estimate boxes and bags. Include balcony items and anything stored separately. Mark furniture that needs taking apart and tell us if you need help with packing.
If only a few items are moving, a man-and-van enquiry may be a useful starting point. The crew and vehicle should still match the actual lifting and access requirements.
Coordinate two sets of access rules
Check moving hours at both buildings. Arrange keys, entry fobs and someone to receive the load. If leaving a rental, include the key-return deadline and the earliest access to your next home.
Keep corridors and fire exits clear while preparing. Confirm the agreed price, crew and included work before booking, then update us if the building’s arrangements change.
