Prepare the unit before carrying
Empty shelves and identify parts that can slide out. Arrange appropriate removal of wall fixings before the agreed collection, and retain the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not assume that carrying a loaded bookcase is suitable. Books need their own manageable boxes and must be counted separately if they are included in the move.
Check stability and the turning route
Tell us about weak joints, thin backs or previous dismantling. A tall flat-pack unit may not remain stable when tilted. Measure the hallway and stair turns, including ceiling clearance, and state whether it is travelling assembled. Reassembly and fixing furniture to a wall are separate tasks requiring agreement; anchoring is not included by default.
What to put in the request
- Unit dimensions and whether the shelves are removable.
- Number of book boxes or other contents also moving.
- Any glass panels and access to the destination room.
