Provisional moving dates: the London plan
A London move needs a borough and full postcode as well as a building name. For a flat, send the floor, lift-door dimensions and any move-in appointment before asking for a vehicle size. A concierge booking and roadside loading permission are separate arrangements.
- Likely moving period: include the details for both ends of this move.
- Reason the date is provisional: include the details for both ends of this move.
- Known load and access details: include the details for both ends of this move.
Give useful information that is already settled
List the furniture, approximate boxes and both postcodes. Add floors, lifts and any preparation you need. Explain whether timing depends on property completion, a tenancy, building access or a seller. If you have several possible dates, say which are realistic rather than entering an arbitrary fixed date.
Reconfirm when the date becomes definite
A provisional discussion is not a held slot. Once you know the date, ask for availability and the current scope and price to be confirmed. Changes to the load, addresses or access can affect the plan as well as the date. Review the booking terms before making other time-dependent promises.
What to update later
- The confirmed day and access windows at both properties.
- Any changed furniture, box count or extra collection.
- Packing, dismantling and carrying work to be included.
Resolve borough, building and loading bay
For an inner-London furniture purchase, ask the seller to measure the item in its travel condition and show the route from the room to the street. A pavement handover must be agreed explicitly; it cannot be assumed when a seller offers collection only.
For this provisional moving dates request, explain any uncertainty about likely moving period before accepting a quote. The collection-ready time, vehicle access and recipient availability must work together; a short driving distance does not remove the handling work.
Before you confirm provisional moving dates
Send the full collection and delivery addresses, likely moving period and reason the date is provisional, and photographs of any awkward access. Ask for a written scope covering the handling required at your London address.
Check the proposed supplier, price, vehicle or crew, relevant cover and any waiting arrangements. Do not release the goods until the booking and handover instructions have been agreed.
