Check communal rooms as well as your bedroom
Identify your kitchen equipment, furniture, books and stored boxes. Agree with housemates which shared items are moving before collection day. Label your boxes with a name and destination room. Keep another resident’s similar-looking items separate so the collection does not depend on guessing which is yours.
Coordinate the people who control access
Confirm who will open each property and where the load can be gathered without blocking corridors. Explain whether housemates are moving at the same time, because shared loading space may be limited. If several residents want transport, list each person’s load and destination before the quote is assessed.
A clear shared-house request includes
- Only the furniture and boxes authorised to leave.
- Floor levels, stair turns and common entrances.
- Any distinct collection or delivery stops for different residents.
