Use an item list instead of a house-size estimate
Walk through each room and list only the belongings included in the move. Specify quantities where similar chairs, shelves or boxes remain behind. Mark selected pieces consistently, and have someone available who can resolve questions. Do not rely on vague instructions such as taking “about half” of a room.
Resolve destinations before loading
If some furniture is going to family and the rest to a new home, number the stops and label each item accordingly. Separate donations, sales and unwanted items that you are arranging yourself. This transport enquiry does not include waste clearance. Report additions before the booking so capacity and carrying time can be reviewed.
Prepare the selected load
- Keep boxes for the move separate from boxes staying in the property.
- Record dimensions of the large pieces included.
- Name a contact who can confirm what is authorised to leave.
