Moving box inventory guide: the London plan
A London move needs a borough and full postcode as well as a building name. For a flat, send the floor, lift-door dimensions and any move-in appointment before asking for a vehicle size. A concierge booking and roadside loading permission are separate arrangements.
- Box quantities by size: include the details for both ends of this move.
- Heavy contents identified: include the details for both ends of this move.
- Furniture listed separately: include the details for both ends of this move.
Count the load in categories
Group small, medium and large boxes, then count bags, suitcases and plastic crates separately. Note books or other dense contents, which may need smaller manageable containers. Keep furniture and appliances on separate lines. “Twenty boxes” is less useful if several are oversized or contain unusually heavy objects.
Update the estimate as packing progresses
Mark early figures as estimates and tell Movivio if the final count changes materially. Include contents from lofts, garages and shared cupboards. Do not assume extra boxes can be added without affecting capacity or time. Describe items that will remain loose so preparation can be discussed before arrival.
A simple inventory format
- Room name, box size category and estimated quantity.
- Heavy or fragile contents needing attention.
- Loose items and furniture outside the box total.
Resolve borough, building and loading bay
For an inner-London furniture purchase, ask the seller to measure the item in its travel condition and show the route from the room to the street. A pavement handover must be agreed explicitly; it cannot be assumed when a seller offers collection only.
For this moving box inventory guide request, explain any uncertainty about box quantities by size before accepting a quote. The collection-ready time, vehicle access and recipient availability must work together; a short driving distance does not remove the handling work.
Before you confirm moving box inventory guide
Send the full collection and delivery addresses, box quantities by size and heavy contents identified, and photographs of any awkward access. Ask for a written scope covering the handling required at your London address.
Check the proposed supplier, price, vehicle or crew, relevant cover and any waiting arrangements. Do not release the goods until the booking and handover instructions have been agreed.
