Check the construction with the owner
Ask whether the wardrobe is solid furniture, a modular system or flat-pack construction. Note sliding doors, mirrored panels and fixed backs. Previously assembled flat-pack furniture may not tolerate repeated dismantling. Explain its condition and supply the manufacturer or assembly instructions where available; suitability cannot be assumed from a photograph.
Plan wardrobe collection at your Blockley address
For a single furniture item, ask the Blockley seller for its travel dimensions and the route out of the property. A short drive to the buyer does not remove handling work on a stepped or sloping approach.
Match the inventory to the actual carrying and preparation work. Tell us which items need help, whether you want packing or dismantling, and who will provide access at each property.
- For wardrobe collection, prepare: assembled and panel sizes; construction and mirror details; dismantling responsibility.
- The street address does not describe the carrying route on a sloping site. Include the rise or fall from the agreed loading position to the doorway and any steps or tight turns.
Allow for height when turning
Measure the route including ceiling height where the wardrobe must turn, not just the entrance opening. If it is to travel as panels, give the longest panel size and identify glass components. Empty the wardrobe and agree how shelves, rails and fittings will be packed. Dismantling and reassembly need an explicit agreement.
Your wardrobe collection checklist
- Confirm that the seller will release all doors, shelves and fittings.
- State whether it is empty and prepared to carry.
- Describe access to the final room, including stairs and tight corners.
Your Blockley enquiry checklist
- The entrance and usable approach to the Blockley property
- Photographs or measurements of slopes, steps and turns
- An unloading method suited to the actual surface
- For wardrobe collection, include assembled and panel sizes; construction and mirror details; dismantling responsibility.
- Confirm the supplier, total price, handling scope and booking terms before accepting a quote.
